Oh wow...I forgot I even had this account.

I know I said I would use this account as my art journal...but I still end up posting my art on my LJ anyways XD; Oh well...I haven't done any ART art for a looooong while, but here's a mini sketch-dump:

Definitely, without a doubt, going to Japan with my sister for four days. It was a stopover trip on our way to Hong Kong, but it was the best four days of my life! It was just me and my sister, no parents, and it was our own money that we spent, so unlimited shopping freedom in other words! It was absolute heaven. Both of us stayed in Shinjuku, and we took the subway to Shibuya, Akihabara, Harajuku, Suidobashi, and lots of other places. I bought a lot of toys, makeup, and just really cute/cool Japanese items, heh! The food there is heaven too. Overall, it was just a really awesome time. If you've been to Japan, you would know <3

I'm Not Scared

I finished reading Niccolo Ammaniti's I'm Not Scared yesterday at school. That book is a requirement for my English class this term, but I went ahead and finished it first. I must say, it is an awesome book! It's so suspenseful and gripping, I didn't even want to put it down! I skipped class and sat at Starbucks for 3 hours reading it, haha. It's definitely one of my favorites now, and I highly recommend it :D
Man, I really like my English teacher...I had her during the summer for summer school as well, and she picks really good novels for us to read! During the summer, she made us read Kazuo Ishiguro's When We Were Orphans, which is another really great book. I know this makes me sound a bit like a supernerd, but I love reading. *nods*

Anyways, it seems like I"m not really using my VOX account for it's original primary purpose...which is an art journal. I just don't have a lot of time to draw these days, what with school and work. However, I do still have time to do some writing! And when I say writing, I mean writing plotlines and character backgrounds for my webcomic, haha. I was watching some other shows before, and I realized how much I hated the MarySue heroine characters...y'know, your typical sweet-gentle-princess-like character whose whole life revolves around her first love *gags* I'm sorry, but for once, I would like to see the bitch get the guy, lol! That's why, while I was writing up character profiles for my comic, I made sure my heroine was nothing like I just described...hm...I actually kind of made her a little evil...but not like any of you people would be interested, haha~ I'm just rambling because I don't want to do my homework ;p

I think I forgot how to draw...

School is starting tomorrow. Good. I need to learn things again...my brain pretty much emptied itself out during the summer.

Sorry guys, no new art today...

I don't know if it's because I've been out of school for too long or I've just been watching way too much TV, but my brain is literally empty. I can't recall any of the things I learned in school last term, and I think my creativity has gone out the window too...Basically, I can't think. I try to think of ideas and stuff, and I end up with nothing. Does this ever happen to anyone? o_O

So that's why I've been sticking with fanart these days. Fanart doesn't require much thinking because the idea and character already exists. Good stuff.
Just for fun though, I feel like doing an Asucaga doujinshi...the story idea I have in mind is completely 100% cliche and inspired by many Korean dramas, but I don't really care because it's just for fun! Haha~ I was doing some concept sketches of it, but we'll see how long I'll stick to that idea...I probably might ditch the entire project in a week since that's what I usually do for everything else anyways...

I just found out that I wasn't accepted for Work Study jobs this year...Work Study jobs are campus jobs that are only available for students who have student loans. I didn't get enough student loans this year to cover my tuition, and I was kind of counting on my work study job to help me out....but I guess that won't be happening anymore. This sucks......By the way, for those of you who think it'll all be alright and think I can get my help from my parents or someone, wrong. My parents haven't helped me financially since I was 16. So yeah, I am officially on welfare now. That's just awesome [/sarcasm].

Just for fun, I took a few random pictures of my favorite possessions, haha! First we have my beloved cellphone that apparently, a lot of people envy me for having. *ego boost* Hahaha! It's a great cellphone, but I must admit the touch palette requires some time to get used to...my cellphone strap is a FFVII:AC one I got at the Official Square Enix Character Shop in Japan. It looks sooo hot with my phone XD;
The second picture is just one of my Bleach mug. I bought that at the JUMP shop in Japan, and I use it to drink everything, haha! I was drinking milk when I took the picture, lol!

And to finish my post, here's a quickie sketch of my favorite original character, Alex. For those of you who check out my art on a fairly frequent basis, you will know that I draw her A LOT. Unfortunately though, I have yet to come up with a great story for her...I always end up changing her character...Arrrgggh...I wish I could think of ideas better. Everything I think of always ends up sounding like Bleach one way or another......*sigh*

I've been working on and off on my webcomic again...It's been years in the making and I still haven't finished one page of the damn thing. Why? Because I don't have a solid storyline, that's why. I am the most indecisive and critical person when it comes to my own art and ideas, and I just keep changing things! Arrrgggh! It's so frustrating. I just can't stick to a story idea because everything is either a) already used in an existing story, b) sounds too similar to something else, or c) super lame

On a rather irrelevant topic, I got my final mark back from my English summer school course. I got an A-, and for someone who barely tried, that's pretty damn good. My sister says I should minor in English or something since I seem to be really good at it...I never really saw myself as a very good writer though. I mean, maybe I'm good at writing essays, but if it's creative writing, we got a totally different story. I've never written a story in my life, and I doubt I'm any good. Speaking of which, Lexa: your story is awesome so far and I'm really enjoying it^^
Hmm...maybe I could try writing my webcomic in story form...that way I can get a better idea of what I want my webcomic to be about and it helps me practice my writing XD;

I don't know..I'm just rambling here *sigh*
